About Us
The staff at Pediatric Therapy Center consists of pediatric-trained
occupational, physical and speech-language pathologists as well
as a full team of early intervention specialists. Each member
of the professional staff has extensive training in sensory, motor
and language techniques.

Patricia Steffen-Sanchez, M.S., OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Founder and Director of Services
Pat received her Bachelors of Science degree from Colorado State
University (1977) and her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy
Education and Administration (San Jose State University 1982). This
private practice was begun in 1983 and the team approach was adopted
in 1987. Pat is on faculty at San Jose State University in the Occupational
Therapy and Special Education departments teaching pediatric and
therapeutic handling courses. Specialty areas include:
swallowing/feeding,
sensory integration,
sensory processing, visual motor integration.
Pamela Flagg, MPA, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Clinical Coordinator
Fieldwork Supervisor
Pam holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Distinction in Occupational
Therapy (San Jose State University 1978) and a Master of Science Degree
in Public Administration/Health Service Administration (University of San
Francisco 1995). She has obtained advanced certification in
Neurodevelopmental Treatment
and has a strong clinical background in
Sensory Processing Theory
and Therapeutic Listening techniques.
Melissa Scott, OTR/L
Licensed Occupational Therapist
Melissa was born in Modesto, California and just recently moved
to Aptos in June 2004. Melissa graduated from San Jose State
University in 1994 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in
Occupational Therapy. Melissa is full of energy and you can see
it in her work and with her husband Kip, and three children
Erryn, Kellen and Paxton. She has specialized in working with
children with
neuromuscular disorders
and recently got certified
in the ALERT program which helps children to learn self-regulation
strategies. Melissa is very excited about advancing her knowledge
in
Sensory Integration Theory
and techniques.
Vicky Castillo
Infant Development Specialist
Vicky received her Bachelors degree in Child Development with
a minor in Atypical Child Studies from San Jose State University
in 2002. Vicky is a Mom of two boys, 18 and 20. She and her
husband both grew up in Santa Clara Valley and have been together
27 years. She and her family moved to Soquel in 2001. Vicky
loves working with her wonderful infants and toddlers and
driving around beautiful Santa Cruz County in order to see them
in their homes! Vicky enjoys her four dogs - two big, two little
and likes to read fiction, horror and romance during her free time.
